The Four Gentlemen namely, plum blossoms, orchids, bamboo and chrysanthemums represent the ideal virtues of Confucian gentleman namely resilience, humility, integrity and endurance. For thousand of years, Chinese artists and poets have been inspired by the Four Gentlemen such as Su Shi.
