Geraniums are beautiful and fragrant flowers with five petals in various colours like pink, white, red, purple or blue. There are two types of Geraniums namely the True Geraniums( Also known as Cranesbills as the shape of the seed pods resemble crane's bill) and Pelargoniums. The Cranesbill are radially symmetrical flowers with five petals while pelargoniums have bilaterally symmetrtical flowers, where the upper two petals are different from the lower three petals. Some varieties have more petals making it like double blooms.
Geraniums are fragrant and are used in perfumes and essential oils and some species have medicinal use for wound healing due to its anti-inflammatory properties.
